Fawn (LIMIT 1 per SEASON)

Fawn (LIMIT 1 per SEASON)

$40.25

Fawn is a waterlily we acquired in 2021. She quickly becomes a favorite due to her insane petals count ( she has at least 8 or more rows of petals, the norm for waterlily is around 6 rows). We adore her color as it’s shifting from coral, deep pink to peach, or apricot in colder temps, think 40* F). She’s an early mid season bloomer, 4 feet tall plant. Bloom size is around 4”. Super productive—churning out blooms until the very last. Of the three seasons we’ve grown her, she does best in a humid, hotter climate with soil that has good moisture retention. In hotter climate (temps over 90*F), she starts out as an unattractive orange with flatter petals. By day 5, she becomes more mellow in color, which can range from coral to peach. Don’t rely too heavily on your first bloom. Make sure you pinch your plant to allow more blooms for a better comparison. Waterlily form becomes more prominent as she closes up in the evening hours. Photos taken during the day will have flatter petals as with any waterlily form. Fawn is compared as Cinderella in disguise may be an appropriate analogy during a trying 2023 growing season.

Fawn was bred by Knowles (US origin) in 1971. It’s classified as waterlily form in the ADS. To our best understanding thus far (December 2023), it’s not a random nickname. No one has renamed it.
